India's UPI service launched in Sri Lanka and Mauritius Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the launch of this service in a special meeting today. The meeting was attended by External Affairs Minister S
Jaishankar, RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das, Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe and Mauritius Prime Minister Praveen Jaganth.
UPI services will be available for Indian citizens traveling to Sri Lanka and Mauritius as well as Mauritian citizens visiting India. Narendra Modi said, “I strongly believe that Indian tourists will prefer destinations where UPI services are available. The two countries
adopted a vision document during Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe's visit to India last year. One of its main goals was to increase financial connectivity. A detailed discussion was also held with the Prime Minister of Mauritius last year.
